Remember the couple from the gallery of Engagement Photos Palace of Fine Arts San Francisco? Well, they just got married and the day was a blast! I rarely have fun at weddings [LOL], so I was pleasantly surprised at how laid back and relaxed the bride and groom were. You can tell in the photo below that the groom is pretty chill.
It’s really nice when the subject matter provides for spontaneous imagery.
The ceremony took place at the San Francisco Theological Seminary. Despite the name, the Church is actually located in San Anselmo, CA. Just north of San Francisco.
Gotta love Digital Photography. What with being able to shoot in the lowest of light with little to no grain. I rarely use flash during a ceremony in a church. Even if it is allowed, flash photography does not produce the best results when shooting from far away. I’m using a long lens [zoom lens] for these two shots below. Even though they look close, I took them from far away.
He sure looks happy here.
The wedding reception takes place at the Marin Country Club in Novato, CA. I love working here, mainly because I live in Novato. It’s only 5 minutes from my house. At any rate, you can see what the room looks like in the below shot. This is just before the grand entrance of the bride and groom.
The schedule was rushed [as usual for a wedding], but I did manage to DRAG the couple out back for a few of my SPECIALTY SHOTS. These are the types of shots where I can really shine if given the chance. I basically tell the bride and groom to pretend I am not here…and then I try and capture the emotion on their faces. So when they see the shots in the years to come, the picture can help them remember how they felt.
This picture below is one of my faves.
Your DJ for the evening is Buddy Holly. What a name, huh? He’s pretty cool though. As you can see below, looking the part.
The first dance was very emotional. The groom sang to the bride.
Can you say CAKE FIGHT!!! I haven’t seen a good Cake Fight in a while so this was really a shocker!
So they finally kissed and made up.
I took a lot of pictures at this wedding. Over one thousand wedding photos were taken! If you would like to see more of these photos or discuss your wedding at the Marin Country Club, please contact me!
